  6. Ex  1.2 is a scientific calculator for the HP95LX palmtop and  for 
  7. PC-DOS clones, written and copyright (C) 1993 by J.A. Wrotniak.
  8.  
  9. The program comes in two separate versions; one for the HP palmtop 
  10. and one for "regular" PC-DOS machines.
  11.  
  12. Ex  is  shareware;   the  details  of  registration  and   further 
  13. distribution are given in the enclosed documentation file, EX.DOC.

  16. PACKING LIST

  18. The following files should have been enclosed in the set you  have 
  19. received:

  21. * READ_ME.1ST - the one you are reading
  22.  
  23. * EX.EXE - the program itself
  24.  
  25. * EX.UNI - data for unit conversion
  26.  
  27. * EX.HLP - used by the on-line help
  28.  
  29. * EX.ERR - run-time error messages
  30.  
  31. * EX.DOC - the user manual.
  32.  
  33. * WHATS.NEW - a list of recent changes
  34.  
  35. Registered copies of Ex contain four additional files:
  36.  
  37. * EXSET.EXE - a setup program
  38.  
  39. * EXSET.DOC - its brief documentation
  40.  
  41. * EXTUT.DOC - a tutorial text file
  42.  
  43. * UNITS.TXT - unit definitions (ASCII) 
  44.  
  45. Except  for  the EX.EXE file,  all others are  identical  for  all 
  46. mutations of the program.

  49. PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION
  50.  
  51. The  .DOC  files are in the ASCII format with hard  returns  after 
  52. each  line,  and up to 66 characters wide.  They can be viewed  or 
  53. printed directly from any desktop computer.
  54.  
  55. For  a printout,  switch your printer,if possible,  to the  PC-850 
  56. character  set (this can be done on the  HP  printers),  otherwise 
  57. some of the special characters may not print right.
  58.  
  59. Finally, when you register, you may request a printout of the text
  60. files at no extra charge.

  63. QUICK START
  64.  
  65. Copy EX.PRG,  EX.UNI,  EX.HLP and EX.ERR to the same directory  on 
  66. your HP95 or on the PC-DOS clone.
  67.  
  68. While in that directory,  run the program by typing EX. (On the HP 
  69. palmtop you may also run Ex from the Filer by highlighting  EX.EXE 
  70. and pressing F4.)
  71.  
  72. Once running,  F1 will bring the on-line help, F10 will exit. Read 
  73. EX.DOC for more.
